Jurassic Park 3.

The second sequel to the award - winning "Jurassic Park".  The story (not that their is much of one) begins with two para - gliders (a man and a boy) who are trying to film dinosaurs on the island of Isla Sauna illegally.  They are attached to a boat by a rope.  All of a sudden they disappear through a cloud of mist and the boat is going to crash.  The two surviving para - gliders disconnect the rope and crash - land on the island.
The parents of the boy (Eric Kirby) are shocked and want their little Joey back.  So they trick Dr. Alan Grant on coming with them to the island (the same island as the Lost World, but different from Jurassic Park 1's Isla Nubla).  But something unexpected has evolved....

They hire a plane to take them there, 8 people were on the plane to start off with:
Dr. Alan Grant (the guy with the hat in Jurassic Park),
Billy Brennan (Alan's apprentice),
Paul Kirby (Eric's dad),
Amanda Kirby (Eric's mum),
A mysterious vicar of the Kirby's local church,
"Cooper" (the gun - man).
The pilot and
Udesky (the co - pilot).

The first thing they do is land on the proper runway, but they hear a dinosaur, a big one so they all get back in (except cooper).  they begin to take off, and cooper is in the middle of the runway and out comes the newly evolved "spinosaurus" who to eat cooper gets in the way of the plane, which hits the spinosaurus.  It crashes into the trees where good old spiney comes and rocks the plane to try to gobble some of them up.  He succeeds in smashing up the plane and eating the pilot and the mysterious guy.  The others manage to escape.

The next thing they do is go through the forest, looking for Eric, but bump into the place where he landed, there is the skeleton of the other man on the para - glider, but Eric is nowhere to be seen.  Alan thinks the para - glider might be useful, so Billy brings it with him.  They continue through the forest where they see a 'Rex.  Nobody move!  Luckily the 'Rex is distracted by the spinosaurus and they begin  to fight and good old spiney kills that menacing 'Rex  Through the trees they continue to find a....

INGEN base, where they find a deserted reck of a research centre.  They walk down into the research area, looking for useful equipment.  All of a sudden a thought - model Velociraptor springs into life and chases them out of the base.  They run into the forest and Alan gets separated from the group by the raptors, who kill Udesky.  Alan is saved just in time by gas grenades, by Eric Kirby, the Lost Boy *COMING IN CINEMAS 2002*.  Not.  They then hide in a water - truck before trying to find the rest of the group.

The rest of the group are on the other side of a huge fence.  Eric Kirby hears his dad's satellite phone.  They rush out of the woods and so do the other group, into a clearing with the fence down the middle.  The fence is in the way, but they see each other and Paul Kirby says:
"How did you find us"?  His little kid answers:
         "I heard you're satellite phone".
"But I don't have my satellite phone, I lent it too the vicar on the plane and....  Uh Oh"!
Spino' stands grinning at them from the edge of the forest, on Alan and Eric's side.
         "Run"
And it's spinosaurus in last place, catching up on Eric and Alan, will he get them I wonder and oh, a hole in the fence, close, but looks like their saved.  And no! Spiney knocks down the fence and they're off again.
Luckily they find their way into a building, where they find out Billy is carrying some raptor eggs in his "lucky bag".  They find their way down to the river in the gorge and into a "bird cage" full of Pteranodon (a type of Pterosaur)!  Eric is picked up and taken to there nest as food, but Billy comes flying in on the old para - glider and saves Eric and saves the day!

They get out of the cage, but leaving the door open a crack.  They find an abandoned boat and sail down stream.  Past some dino dung, where they meet an old meat eater who can't stand the smell and clears off.  Alan & Co.  find some sun glasses, some bones, some clothes and a Paul's mobile phone in the poo.  They get on the boat and sail on, but along comes NOW WITH SWIMMING TECHNOLOGY!!!!, Spinosaurus, they get into a cage to try to protect them selves.  Spiney, however, pushes the cage underwater, just when that vital mobile phone call was made to Ellie Sattler, Alan's friend.  But her kid answers and the message only just gets through after Barny's song (if you see it you'll understand).  Paul gets trapped on a crane and Alan saves him by firing a fire - bullet at the spinosaurus.  They manage to walk up the cliff into the woods, where they meet those Raptors, but Billy is missing.  The Raptors, understandably, want their 2 eggs back.  Alan makes a call on his Raptor voice - box that a machine @ the dig made.  The Raptors get their eggs back without a fight.  And they hear a....

Helicopter!  Yes back it comes to save them!  With the whole army and navy.  Billy is on board and has rescued Dr. Grant's hat, that is why we call him "Hatty Guy"  They fly back to safety, closely followed by some escaped Pteranodon.

It's a very action - packed film, but without much of a story.  I really doubt anyone could survive a dinosaur island for 8 weeks, unless they were in the magic circle!  4 people get killed and the special effects are gr8!  It's worth the dosh!
Oh well!  I rate this not very realistic, but action - packed film:

••••••••·· - 80%.
